John is Owner and CEO of Tiner Properties – a full service residential property management and real estate sales company.

    Tiner Properties is a 3-generation family business – started by his parents in 1976.


    John joined the family business in 1987 and has grown the company from 40 rentals to well over 1000 currently. John has earned the designation of GRI (Graduate of Real Estate Institute) and is an Outstanding Life Member of the Masters Club.


    With nearly 4 decades of experience, John has become an expert in all aspects of property management, investment properties, and real estate sales. John regularly testifies as an expert witness in court as to rent values and has been a continuing member of NARPM (National Association of Residential Property Managers) since 1994.


    As CEO, John maintains the Tiner culture of respect, professionalism, and excellence within his team, signs up new accounts, and sells investment real estate. He spends a considerable amount of time reading legal blogs and developing best practices for the management team. John is a regular guest speaker for Realtor and Investor groups sharing his expertise with other Real Estate professionals.


    John especially appreciates being able to work with both his parents, grown children, and his wife, Jenny, in the family business. When he is not working, he enjoys traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and twin step-sons, woodworking, and playing racquetball.

    Jenny (John Tiner’s wife) has been in the real estate industry since 1997 but her love of investment real estate started when she bought her first duplex at the age of 19.


    She worked as a Transaction Coordinator for a local Real Estate office with over 80 Realtors while obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Sacramento State. Jenny began her professional work life reviewing contracts for Hewlett Packard. Having twin boys changed her life when she got her real estate license in 2004 which allowed her more flexibility to be present with her growing twins. She continued to grow her real estate portfolio purchasing (and managing) multiple income properties and gained experienced flipping houses as well.  


    In 2009, Jenny started working at Tiner Properties. She has successfully helped over 400 Buyers, Sellers and Investors with their real estate needs. Her Outstanding Life Masters Club designation places her in the top 2% of all Realtors. Jenny knows what it takes to market homes in the most appealing way with an ever changing online market presence including great photographs, attractive property descriptions and great marketing strategies. Jenny is an expert negotiator and fantastic communicator and keeps clients well informed throughout the entire marketing and escrow process. Her clients always receive an extremely high level of experience and professionalism. Jenny is also a vital member of the Tiner Leadership Team as a Business Development Manager and Operations Specialist.  


    When Jenny is not working, she enjoys traveling, living an active lifestyle (Peloton champion), spending time with her husband & game nights at home with her twin sons.



Susan Runkle

Susan has 3 decades of experience in property management and excels at a variety of skills that make an expert property manager and sales agent.

    Susan's skills include great judgment, a strong work ethic, the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, a thorough understanding of real estate law pertaining to property management, and a strong knowledge of construction and maintenance. She has a talent for understanding both sides of a situation while keeping the client’s best interest in mind. She currently is co-manager of the residential division and mentors the property managers and bookkeeping staff. Recently, she has joined the Tiner Real Estate Team as the Buyer’s Agent Specialist. While not working, Susan spends her time enjoying the outdoors and her pets.
